2024 Inspire Juniors Pre-Rec Program

The Inspire Juniors Pre-Rec Program introduces the joy of riding balance and pedal bikes to kids aged 2.5 – 1st graders in a supportive and fun atmosphere. Coaches will work on starting, stopping, cornering, and improving speed – improving fitness and skill for our youngest juniors.  New for 2024: We have updated our Strider and Early Pedal program with improvements on age grouping to create a more fun and productive environment for all our young riders!  For 2024, it is called the Inspire Junior Pre-Rec Program with programs for Striders & Preschool Pedalers and Early Elementary Juniors.

How do I know which program is right for my child?

• Are they riding a balance (Strider) bike? = Strider (in the Strider & Preschool Pedal program) = Complete the Pre-Rec Registration and choose Strider
• Are they riding a pedal bike and not yet entering Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year? = Preschool Pedal (in the Strider & Preschool Pedal program) = Complete the Pre-Rec Registration and choose Preschool Pedalers
• Are they riding a pedal bike and entering Kindergarten, 1^st or 2^nd grade in the 2024-2025 school year? = Early Elementary program = Complete the Pre-Rec Registration and choose Early Elementary

Strider & Preschool Pedal Program

The goal of our Strider program (ages 2.5+) is to introduce the joy of riding balance bikes in a supportive and fun atmosphere. Our youngest juniors will work on starting, stopping, and proper balance on two wheels; and progress to advance skills like improving speed and cornering when kiddos are ready. Parent involvement is expected if their junior is not able to walk by themselves on a strider bike.

The Preschool Pedal program (not yet entering Kindergarten in 2024-2025) is focused on developing new pedalers into strong young riders riding on two wheels with pedals in a supportive and fun environment. Kids should know how to ride a pedal bike before entering this program, but we will help them feel confident in their pedaling abilities and get them ready to join us on the gravel and dirt trails.  Juniors will work on starting, reliably braking, pedaling, and cornering. Participants will improve fitness and skill on their pedal bikes while having a ton of fun!  (No training wheels or props – Start with the Strider program if needed.)

The Striders and Preschool Pedalers will meet once per week on Tuesdays from 5:15pm-6:00pm, meeting at locations such as at Audubon Center at Chatfield, Brannon Gearhart Park in Ken Caryl, Wayside Meadows, Ridge at West Meadows, Bradford K-8 North, and Bear Creek Lake Park.

Early Elementary Program

The goal of the Early Elementary program (entering Kindergarten, 1^st or 2^nd grade in 2024-2025) is to share the joy of riding pedal bikes and start to mountain bike in a supportive and fun atmosphere. Juniors will work on starting, reliably braking, pedaling, and cornering. Participants will improve fitness and skill on their pedal bikes while having a ton of fun!  (No training wheels or props.)

This program will meet once per week on Wednesdays from 5:15pm-6:15pm, meeting at locations such as Bradford K-8 North, Bear Creek Lake Park (fee required), Waterton Canyon, Green Mountain, Mountain Vista High School, and Hildebrand.
